We are a wood importer in Vietnam with a standing monthly requirement for Aformosia logs from Congo (DR).
We buy on a regular monthly volume — container by container, with long-term supply strongly preferred over one-off spot lots. Aformosia, better known internationally as afrormosia, is purchased by Vietnamese flooring and joinery producers as a classic teak substitute for interior work.

What we use Aformosia for in Vietnam: Aformosia, better known internationally as afrormosia, is purchased by Vietnamese flooring and joinery producers as a classic teak substitute for interior work. Its fine, straight grain and golden-brown tone suit premium parquet, stair treads, window boards and furniture that would traditionally use teak, while boat fitters use it for interior trim. Because the species is CITES Appendix II listed, Vietnamese importers only buy with valid CITES export permits and complete legality dossiers, which limits volume and elevates price. Kiln-dried boards and flooring blanks from documented Central and West African concessions are the standard purchase forms. A medium-heavy African hardwood, yellow-brown maturing to teak-like golden brown, with fine texture and straight to interlocked grain. Very durable and stable with excellent machining properties. International trade is regulated under CITES Appendix II.
Shipping from Congo (DR): cargo typically loads at Matadi and Boma. DR Congo ships wenge, afrormosia, iroko and sapelli via the Matadi corridor, often transshipping through Pointe-Noire. Logistics and administration are demanding, and legality scrutiny is the highest in the region: require full concession, harvest and export documentation, plus CITES permits for afrormosia, before payment commitments.
